The present invention relates to measurement devices which can be used for detecting and showing a physical characteristic of an object or of an apparatus or of the development of this characteristic with time. The invention essentially consists in converting this physical quantity into a mechanical displacement of a part 10, then into a deflection exerted by this part 10 on a length DELTA 1 of optical fibre 2, the said fibre 2 being connected for example to means 3, 4 for examining the light signal transmitted by the optical fibre 2.
