The subject of the invention is a system for driving a disc carrying a binary signal including a clock datum of predetermined frequency. It comprises sensing means 22 for detecting the binary signal on the disc; a detector 24 responding to the output signal from the sensing means in order to detect a period of the synchronising signal and produce a detecting signal indicating this period; a clock detector 27 which detects the clock datum and generates a reading clock signal; control means 21, 25 generating a control signal as a function of the detection signal; and a mechanism 26 for driving the disc.
