PURPOSE:To prevent fastening motion of a seat belt from troubling starting operation of an engine, by a method wherein, after a given time lapsed, a fastening motion of a fastening means is started, based on input of an engine starting detecting signal. CONSTITUTION:If, when a door switch 5 is turned on in a condition in that the door is closed, an ignition switch 3 is actuated, an engine starting detecting means outputs a detecting signal to a delay means. After a given time lapses, a signal is outputted to a seat belt fastening means, formed with a seat belt winding device 7, a guide rail 8, a guide body 9, a rope 10, and a motor 11, to start seat belt fastening motion. Thus, there is a sufficient time for a driver, inclined forward so as to operate the ignition switch 3, to recline on a seat 1 after the starting of an engine is confirmed. Even if an engine fails in starting, since a seat belt 6 is not fastened yet, a surplus time enough to allow repetition of operation can be left. |
