WATER-DISPERSED INSULATING COATING

PURPOSE:To produce a water-dispersed insulating coating having characteristics comparable to those of an organic solvent type coating, by polymerizing a synthetic coating resin and a mixture of a carboxyl-containing polymerizable unsaturated compound with a polymerizable unsaturated compound which does not have any carboxyl group to form a high-molecular composition, neutralizing this composition, and dispersing it in water. CONSTITUTION:This water-dispersed insulating coating is produced by heating and mixing in the presence of a polymerization initiator a synthetic coating resin (A) and a mixture of a carboxyl-containing polymerizable unsaturated compound (B) with a polymerizable unsaturated compound (C) which does not have any carboxyl group to form a high-molecular composition, and either neutralizing this composition with a basic compound or dispersing this composition in water with the use of this basic compound and an emulsifier. The proportions of components A-C are preferably as follows: (B+C) is 0.5-30wt% of (A+B+C); B is 10-99wt% of (B+C).
