PURPOSE:To improve operability greatly and to shorten the time of image forming operation by selecting one of plural recording paper storage members by a selecting means according to the output signal of a mark detector. CONSTITUTION:Two mark detectors 15a and 15b are provided so as to detect intervals of marks (m) of image frame size. When the mark detector 15a detects a mark (m), a CPU judges an image frame 24 of A4 size on condition that a mark (m) is present at the mark detector 15b, and sends recording paper from a paper cassette 42 of A4 size, thereby performing printing operation. When there is no mark at the mark detector 15b, the CPU judges an image frame 23 of A3 size and selects a paper cassette 43 of A3 size to perform printing operation on recording paper from the paper cassette 43.
