PURPOSE:To obtain a drying agent wherein reduction of moisture absorption velocity is made less till it is reached to saturated amount of moisture absorption and the saturated amount of moisture absorption is increased by dispersing and mixing calcium chloride in a specified proportion with a crushed material of an inorganic foamed body. CONSTITUTION:A drying agent is obtained by mixing 100pts.wt. crushed material of a foamed body obtained by calcining pearlite, vermiculite or the like and 20-300pts.wt. calcium chloride in a dry state. The drying agent obtained thereby is used in such a method that it is packed in a vessel having hygroscopic property in at least one part.
