<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the destruction of data when an external sentence memory is used by preventing the removing of the external sentence memory during the use. CONSTITUTION:A RAM card adapter A to load a RAM card as the external sentence memory connected to the electronic typewriter has a cover B which can be opened and closed to detach the RAM card, and is equipped with a cover locking means C to lock the releasing and to release the locking of a cover B in accordance with the external signal. Then, an ETW control part D in charge of the control of the typewriter as a whole outputs a cover locking signal to the cover locking means C while the RAM card is accessed, locks the cover B, makes it unable to release, and when the access of the RAM card is completed, the part outputs a lock releasing signal to the cover locking means C and can release the cover B. Consequently, the RAM card of the RAM card adapter cannot be removed during the use.</p> |
