PURPOSE:1,1,1-Trichloroethane containing, as stabilizers, a combination of aminoalcohol with a substance selected from cyclic ethers, nitroalkanes, and epoxides, thus being suitable for use in cleaning materials containing silver. CONSTITUTION:1,1,1-Trichloroethane is stabilized by adding thereto, an aminoalcohol such as 2-ethylaminoalcohol and at least one selected from cyclic ethers such as 1,3-dioxane, nitroalkanes, such as nitromethane, and epoxides such as 1,2-butylene oxide. Thus, the stability to silver is satisfactorily maintained to cause no discoloration or corrosion of the surfaces of silver, silver-coated materials and structures.
