PURPOSE:To know initialized contents in a memory by clearing the memory to the prescribed value when data abnormalities are detected and outputting the cleared contents in the memory. CONSTITUTION:When a main power source is turned on, a CPU 4 starts its action, and calculates the check byte of data backed up in the memory. Then, a value which is previously calculated and stored in the memory is compared with the newly calculated value of the check byte. If they are coincident with each other, the value in the backup memory is decided to be right. If not, the contents in the backup memory are reset to a preset value, and a check byte is newly calculated and stored in the backup memory. The reset value is printed and outputted in the prescribed format.
