SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having superior dimensional stability and high scratch strength and hardly causing pressure fog by incorporating latex having hydrophilic groups fixed on the surface and a low molecular vinylsulfone hardening agent into at least one of photographic constituent layers. CONSTITUTION:Latex having hydrophilic groups fixed on the surface and a low molecular vinylsulfone hardening agent are incorporated into at least one of hotographic constituent layers. The latex is obtd. by converting latex into protective colloid with a polymer having hydrophilic groups or by allowing a compound having a hydrophilic group to take part in a latex forming reaction so that the compound is distributed on the surfaces of latex particles..The hydrophilic groups contribute toward stabilizing the latex. The low molecular vinylsulfone hardening agent shows especially superior hardening performance in combination with the latex, so the amount of the hardening agent used can be made smaller than the amount of other hardening agent. The especially preferred amount of the low molecular vinylsulfone hardening agent used is 0.02-10wt% of the total amount of the latex and gelatin.
