PURPOSE:To improve the steering performance and traveling stability by mounting an auxiliary power apparatus onto a dolly installed between a tractor and a connected vehicle hauled by the tractor and reducing the power of the power plant of the dolly less than the output of the power plant of the tractor. CONSTITUTION:The tractive force for traveling the connected vehicle consisting of a plurality of trailers 2, 4, and 6 and a plurality of dollys 3 and 5 consists not only of the tractive force by a tractor 1 equipped with an engine 11 but the power of the first dolly 3 equipped with an engine 31 having the output of the engine, e.g., 4/6 of the output of the engine 11 added. The first dolly 3 is connected in front of the center part of the connected vehicle, and the load distribution in front of the first dolly 3 is reduced in comparison with that in the rear part. Further, when the engine 31 is inspected, a plurality of selector switches 35, 38, 39, and 33 accommodated into an inspection box are switched to the key switch 37 on the first dolly 3 side, and the circuits for a plurality of key switches 15 and 13 on the tractor 1 side are cut off, and the operation-disable state is generated.
