<p>Work and support rolls equipped with their respective clocks are mounted within a housing, and devices for exerting bending forces on the rolls are mounted outside the housing, and hydraulic controls are provided. Devices for compensating the stresses resulting from the action of the bending forces are contained in the central transverse planes of the chocks. These planes also coincide with the transverse planes containing the casing sections of the various cylinders. Likewise arranged in these planes are the main rolling mill adjustment devices and, if required, pre-stressing devices.</p> |
