<p>: A passenger conveyor comprises glass panels arranged between the steps circulating endlessly. There are guide frames each of which has a U-shaped recess and is mounted on and bonded to an upper edge of the glass panel by adhesive, with this upper edge being so inserted in the U-shaped recess that both end of the glass panel project from the ends of the guide frame. Joint frames having the same cross-section as the guide frames are each located in a gap formed between the adjacent guides by arranging the glass panels and guide frames in an end-to-end relationship. Coupling plates are disposed on both sides of the guide frames and joint frame to sandwich them and these coupling plates are fastened together. In this manner, the guide frames and the joint frame, which support endlessly circulating handrails, are firmly and easily secured to the glass panels with a simple construction.</p> |
