PURPOSE:To prevent the bonding between self-adhesive tapes themselves, by cutting the edge portion of a tape material comprised of a self-adhesive layer formed on a substrate diagonally with respect to the surface of the substrate and exposing the edge portion to irradiation. CONSTITUTION:A self-adhesive tape comprised of a self-adhesive layer formed on a substrate, wherein the edge portion of the self-adhesive tape material is diagonally cut at an angle of 10-80 deg. with respect to the surface of the substrate. The edge portion is directly exposed to irradiation, or is coated with a soln. contg. a peroxide and/or a vinyl polymer prior to irradiation. In a preferred embodiment of the tape, a percutaneously absorbable medicine is used. Any of topical or systemic medicine may be used as far as the medicine can be percutaneously absorbed into a living body and exhibits a pharmacological effect when the tape is applied on the skin. The self-adhesive agent may contain a proper amt. of an additive such as tackifier resin, liq. gum, and softener in order to modify the glass transition point of the polymer.
