PURPOSE:To obtain titanium-containing microbial cells by a means for producing the microbial cells, by cultivating a microorganism in a culture medium containing a water-soluble titanium compound. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism without remarkable inhibition of growth thereof with titanium is cultivated in a culture medium containing a water-soluble titanium compound, e.g. titanium chelate compound, etc., capable of stably existing in the culture medium at about the growth optimum pH of the microorganism to be cultivated. If a yeast or alga, e.g. chlorella or alga of the genus Spirulina, etc., is used as the microorganism, the resultant titanium-containing microbial cells can be utilized as a feed for domestic animals, e.g. cattle, pig, horse, chicker, sheep, etc., or fish. |
