PURPOSE:A herbicide for controlling completely gramineous and cyperaceous weeds, containing an alpha-methyl-alpha-ethylphenylacetic acid anilide compound and a specific thiolcarbamate compound, showing improved synergistic effect, having prolonged residual effect period. CONSTITUTION:A herbicide obtained by blending (A) 1tp.wt. compound shown by the formula I (R is lower alkyl), a herbicide for paddy rice plant at early stage, being used in any period up to initial period of occurrence of weeds, showning securely herbicidal effect, with (B) 0.3-10pts.wt., especially 0.5-5pts.wt. S-ethyl- hexahydro-1H-azepine-1-carbothioate, S-isopropyl-hexahydro-1H-azepine-1-carbothioate and/or S-(4-chlorobenzyl)-N,N-diethylthiolcarbamate, having high inhibitory action on growing point of weed, showing high inhibitory action up to period immediately after occurrence of weeds. |
