PURPOSE:To easily obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body high in sensitivity and stable in characteristics during repeated uses of the photosensitive body by using a disazo pigment having a 2,4-hexadiyne structure as an electrostatic charge generating material. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is provided on a conductive substrate with a photosensitive layer containing the disazo pigment represented by formula (I), A being a coupler residue, such as compounds each having a phenolic hydroxyl group, aromatic amino compounds each having an amino group, aminonaphthols each having both of an amino group and a phenolic hydroxyl group, or compounds each having an aliphatic or aromatic phenolic ketone group. The disazo pigment can be easily obtained by diazotizing a corresponding 2,4-hexadiynylene-1,6-bis(aminobenzoate) to convert it into a tetrazonium salt, and coupling it with a corresponding coupler in a proper organic solvent in the presence of a base. |
