PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of defective recording liquid discharge by removing liquid and/or foreign matter of a recording liquid discharge part adhering to the first removing member using the second removing member. CONSTITUTION:If a carriage is driven toward an arrow 'b' direction, a fold- forming part at the tip of a blade 2 slides to contact the front of a recording head 3, removing ink, paper waste or dust attaching to an orifice part. Next, if the carriage 4 is further driven toward 'b' direction, a porous body 7 slides to contact the blade 2, clearing ink, paper waste or dust sticking to the blade 2. When a large quantity of these removed materials have accumulated in the porous body 7, the porous body 7 is to be replaced or cleaned. Thus the settlement of ink, paper waste or dust on the orifice part from the blade 2 is eliminated, preventing generation of defective ink discharge. |
