<p>PURPOSE:To make the dust deposited on a cylindrical filter cloth porous, and to facilitate the passage of a gas by providing a preliminary dust charging device on the inlet side of a dust-contg. gas passage in a casing. CONSTITUTION:When the dust-contg. gas supplied from a dust-contg. gas inlet 10A passes through a preliminary charging device 14 consisting, for example, of an acicular corona discharge electrode 12 and an annular opposite electrode 13, the dust contained in the gas, for example, is negatively charged, proceeding to the outer circumference of a cylindrical filter cloth 4, and is deposited thereon. In this case, since double spiral electrodes 1 and 2 are impressed with high DC voltage by a high voltage DC source 5, a circular-arcuate electric line of force 25 is formed between the adjacent electrodes 1 and 2 and the charged dust forms a dust layer arranged in regular order in the form of beads along the electric line of force 25. Accordingly, the dust is loosely accumulated as a whole, and the dust layer is made porous to enable the passage of the gas even when the dust is deposited to some extent.</p> |
