PURPOSE:To permit centerless rolling so as to average roll wear and to improve working efficiency by installing a pair of vertical rolls which can be moved to the right and left irrespectively of the center of a universal mill installed to the pass line of a rolling device. CONSTITUTION:The universal mill 1 or the vertical rolls 2, 2 near said mill are so constituted that said rolls can be respectively moved to the right and left irrespectively of the center A of the mill 1 itself to permit centerless rolling. The wear of the vertical rolls 2, 2, can be averaged by adequately transferring horizontal rolls 3, 3 of the mill 1 upward and downward. The wear of the rolls 3, 3, can be averaged by moving the rolls 2, 2 to the right and left. The left of the rolls is thus extended and the time for exchanging the rolls is shortened. |
