In the case of a safety contact device having a contact device which is operated by a magnetic field and having a first permanent-magnet system which is allocated to said contact device for operation, an additional second permanent-magnet system is provided which masks the polarity of the first permanent-magnet system on the unprotected side of the safety contact device or simulates an opposing polarity and/or is allocated to a second contact device which is operated by a magnetic field of opposing polarity.
