<p>An alloy powder or a mixture of alloy powder for manufacturing dental amalgams contains, in addition to the traditional alloy component namely silver, 5 to 8% by weight of titanium as well as possibly other traditional alloy components such as tin, copper, zinc and usual additives such as for example palladium, gold, platinum or indium. After trituration or insertion of the filling in the cavity, the powder is coloured by a chemical and/or electrochemical treatment to assume a light, non-metallic appearence which merges with the colour of the tooth material.</p> |
