<p>Apparatus and process for internal surface modification of a pipe bend or elbow (herein referred to as a bend), wherein a bend (20) is positioned on mounting means (16) of a support frame (14) rotatable about a principal axis (X). The bend (20) is positioned such that it has a radial section thereof positioned substantially in a work plane perpendicular to axis (X) and such that the section is substantially centered on axis (X) during rotation of the frame (14) about axis (X). A treatment head (22) is positioned at the work plane, adjacent axis (X), and operated to effect modification of an annular zone of the internal surface of the bend (20), around radial section, as the frame (14) and the bend (20) mounted thereon is rotated under the action of drive means (12) to move the zone across the treatment head (22).</p> |
