PURPOSE:To efficiently stir and mix additives and molten metal by inserting an immersion plate having conducting holes into the molten metal and lifting and rotating the plate. CONSTITUTION:The circular immersion plate 4 of an inverted T shape having the conduction holes is immersed into the molten metal 17 in a ladle 16. Such immersion plate 4 is moved upward and downward around a bearing 20 by the vertical movement of a rod 21 of a driving device 23 fixed to a main mast 19. The plate is rotated by a driving device 9 via a pinion 8 and a gear 13. The refining agent or slag added to the molten metal 17 is pushed into the molten metal 17 by properly combining the ascending and descending of such immersion plate 4 and the cycles of forward and backward axes thereof, by which the stirring and mixing are thoroughly executed. The smaller refining agent is required and the time for refining is shortened according to the above- mentioned method. |
