The fourteen-key keyboard for key input devices, which are constructed in a modified way according the invention, consists of the one-part or two-part keyboard base plate with eight adjustable finger key carriers, which according to the invention can be adjusted in seconds to hands of different shape and size, and two thumb key groups in fixed positions. Basic explanation: when it is switched on, the lower-case alphabet and eight further key functions are ready to be used. The six keys of the two thumb key groups are divided into a space key, a line feed key and four program keys, each with 38 further key functions. The multiple keys for the fingers are structurally designed per key direction in such a way that only one electrical pulse is triggered whenever they are pressed. The fourteen-key keyboard results in a relaxed posture, much easier operation, easier learning and increased capacity. The "working paths" of the arms, hands and fingers become much shorter, and the "working field" of the eyes much smaller. The character window with help symbols for key selection and key direction helps beginners and those who write little.
