PURPOSE:To obtain a cheap optical recording medium that can form quickly unevenness as data pits and suitable for massproduction by providing a reading light absorption layer made of a colored layer that absorbs reading light and has a data pattern on a transparent substrate, and providing a highly reflective reading light reflection layer on it. CONSTITUTION:A data pit 5 is provided on a transparent substrate 2 to form a reading light absorption layer 3, and a reading light reflection layer 4 is formed on it. A colored layer in which the whole layer or at least a face in contact with the substrate 2 absorbs leading light is formed. The layer 4 consists of a thin film made of Al or other highly reflective material. In forming the layer 3, resist 11 is applied on the substrate 2 and a data pit pattern is formed by exposing and developing through a mask 12 having the data pit pattern. Then, the resist 11 is colored with reading light pigment. A light reflection layer 4 (14) is formed on it by plating or vapor deposition. |
