PURPOSE:To simplify the operation of an operator for segmentation of data and also to facilitate easy searching action in the future by putting a special code into the data displayed on a screen display means. CONSTITUTION:When a data segmentating indication is given from a display screen of a display device 2, an operator pushes a specific key of a keyboard 3. Thus the data is read out of the display screen of the device 2 by a processor 4. Then the processor 4 searches a specific code to segment the data out of the screen of the device 2 and stores the data following the specific code in an internal memory device 6 in a range between the next specific code and the termination of the screen. Then the processor 4 stores the segmented data stored in the device 6 in an external memory device 5. An internal memory device 7 stores a mode setting flag and the processor 4 performs the automatic segmentation processing even with no operation of keys as long as said setting flag is set.
