<p>FAILURE PROTECTION CIRCUIT FOR A TWO-MOTOR LIFT TRUCK An electrically operated dual motor drive system having first and second reversible traction motors driven by a power source. Motor control circuitry for controlling the direction of current flow through the motors is designed to be actuated by only two coils. Preferably, control circuits employ an arrangement of normally open and normally closed contacts such that the two motors operate in reverse directions in the event of a complete system malfunction. A line contactor is advantageously utilized to simultaneously serve as a main power disconnect for a variety of motors within the system.</p> |
