MANUFACTURING DEVICE FOR CYLINDRICAL PART OF FIBER REINFORCED PLASTIC

PURPOSE:To manufacture the cylindrical part of FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) carrying low winding angle and complying with high accuracy easily by installing the jig having protrusions in uniform pitch at both ends of mandrel and engaging continuously the resin-impregnated continuous fiber in axial direction on these protrusions. CONSTITUTION:The disc-type jigs 2 having the diameter larger than that of mandrel 1 are installed at both ends of the mandrel 1. The notches 3 and the protrusions 6 are provided in uniform pitches at the outer circumference of the jig 2. The resin-impregnated continuous fiber 4 is supplied from the guide 5 to the axial direction of mandrel 1 by reciprocating motion, and the said fiber 4 is engaged one by one to the protrusions 6 between the relative notches 3. The engagement to the protrusions 6 can be made either alternatively one in every other, or in every three. Thus, winding with high accuracy can be achieved almost in parallel with the axial direction (0 deg. or low degree winding) easily.
