PURPOSE:To enable the carcass ply to be applied automatically by holding the starting point and the terminal of carcass application with the correcting device and correcting the straightness of the said both ends. CONSTITUTION:When the tip ca of the carcass comes up to the holding position, the absorption device installed at the lower part of the moving piece 86 absorbs the said tip ca, and the application bar 73 is lifted up and the carcass holding and correcting device 7 is moved synchronously with the conveyor 3 by the desired cutting length L1. When the correcting device 7 stops, the tip ca is contacted with the fin 89 to correct the straightness of cutting line of the tip ca. Next, after the correcting device 7 moves to the application position 1a of the drum where the tip ca is applied, the said device moves back to the original position to correct the straightness of the back end of carcass cb by the similar process, and the carcass c is wound around the drum 1 by moving the said device and rotating the drum synchronously.
