PURPOSE:To decrease greatly the number of bits needed for multi-address communication and to improve the communication efficiency, by extending the address part having the n-bit length contained in a message up to the 2n-bit length and designating plural nodes having the node address of the n-bit length with an extension address of the 2n-bit length as the addresses of the multi-address communication. CONSTITUTION:An address list storing buffer 31 is provided to a multi-address communi cation equipment 36 together with an extension address producing circuit 32, an exten sion address list storing buffer 33, a transmission data storing buffer 35, and a message compiling circuit 34. This equipment 36 is set between a communication medium 37 and a transmitter side peripheral equipment. Then the ratio of the number of bits needed for the multi-address communication can be reduced down to 1/h. In such a case, the node address length is set at (n) bits together with the data length to undergo the multi-address communication set at (d) bits, the number of messages to be sent for transmission the same data to all multi-address nodes set at (m), and the average of the section width between the maximum and minimum addresses in a single message to be sent, i.e., (value of the maximum address - value of the mini mum address +1) set at (h) respectively.
