<p>Liquid polyesters for polyurethane mfr. are made by condensing adipic acid with an alcohol component comprising (a) 60-90% of a combination of at least 2 unbranched C2-8 diols with terminal OH gps., and contng. 10-80% butane diol-1,4 and/or hexane diol-1,6, and (b) 40-10% of (un)branched C3-7 diols contng. secondary OH gps. Component (a) can be a mixt. of butane diol-1,4 or hexanediol-1,6 with ethylene glycol, propane diol-1,3,pentane diol-1,5 etc. (pref. diols with odd no. of C atoms), diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol, N-methyl diethanolamine, etc. Component (b) may be propane diol-1,2, butanediol-1,2, butane diol-2,3, neopentyl glycol, 2,2-diethylpropanediol-1,3, hexane diol-1,3 etc. Thermoplastics, elastomers, foams, coatings, etc.</p> |
