PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a power source by converting an input DC voltage into another voltage by high frequency switching, and converting it to a low frequency AC by a DC/AC inverter. CONSTITUTION:A power source is composed of a DC/DC converter having a switching circuit S mainly including power transistor, a transformer T1 and a rectifying and smoothing circuit R, and a DC/AC inverter I without using a transformer. Thus, a DC power source E1 is converted by the circuit S to a high frequency rectangular AC voltage of 15kHz or higher, transformed by the transformer T1 and then converted to a DC voltage by a rectifying and smoothing circuit R. As a result, since the necessary transformer is only the transistor T1 having small size for the converter, the size can be reduced.
