MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To decrease the sliding friction between a magnetic head and magnetic sheet hold-down member by using a resin contg. microparticles of a polytetrafluoroethylene to form the part of the magnetic sheet hold-down member for sliding contact with the magnetic sheet. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head 5 is pressed to one face of the magnetic sheet 4 which is rotationally driven. The magnetic sheet hold-down member is constituted by providing a pad 7 consisting of the resin contg. the microparticles of the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) on one face of a block 6 made of metal. the shape of the pad 7 is so determined as to make stable sliding contact with the head 5 without inducing undue deformation of the sheet 4 according to the shape of the head 5 and the deformation characteristic, etc., of the sheet 4. The sheet 4 is thus supported by the good self-lubricity possessed by the PTFE resin and the sliding friction between the head and the sheet hold-down member is decreased.
