PURPOSE:To obtain a high bonding strength by forming a thin film adhering face only in the vicinity of a magnetic tape slide face side of a half core and bonding half cores directly at rear butt faces of a couple of the half cores not through a metallic magnetic thin film. CONSTITUTION:The thin film adhering face 13 (i.e., a metallic magnetic thin film 14) is formed at a prescribed depth (l) only at the side of a magnetic tape slide face (forming face of magnetic gap 12) and not formed over the entire length of the half core 11. Further, the forming length of a magnetic gap depth restricting slot 15 is matched to the forming length of the said thin film adhering face 13. Although the metallic magnetic thin film 14 and a glass 16 are inserted at the side of the magnetic tape sliding face on the butt face of a couple of the half cores 11, 11 in this way, they are not inserted at the back side, and since the half cores 11, 11 are bonded directly by a magnetic gap forming material made of an oxide, a strong bonding force is obtained at the rear part of the half cores 11, 11 by oxygen diffusion.
