PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a dry product having a high product value, by primarily drying a wet material by a drying apparatus having stirring function and subsequently secondarily drying the same by a drying apparatus having no stirring mechanism. CONSTITUTION:Hot air 3 generated from a heat source 2 is indirectly contacted with a heating medium 4 in a heat exchanger 5 to be heat-exchanged while controlled to 200 deg.C or less and sent out as hot air 6 to be introduced into a main dryer 8. A wet material 7 is thrown in the main dryer 8 to be dried under stirring and, in a stage containing 30-55% of moisture, said material 17 is transferred to a secondary drying process as an intermediate dry product 12. The structure of a secondary drying chamber 14 consists of a support bed material equipped with a discharge device such as a valve and a movable reticulated member and the dry product is dried in the secondary chamber 14 without being formed into a powder. Further, the heating medium 4 is indirectly contacted with hot air 3 in the heat exchanger 5 to perform heat-exchange at 200 deg.C or less. By this method, the material can be homogenized.
