PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a vertical elastic wave by performing the first polarization processing having a vertical direction on the surface of a ferroelectric material, applying a voltage to an electrode on which the second polarization processing is executed to excite a ferroelectric plate. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed voltage of the polarization processing is applied to the electrodes disposed on the front and back surfaces of the ferroelectric material plate 1 to perform a prescribed processing, and obtain polarization lines b1-bn vertical to the front and back surfaces. Accordingly, by exciting through the electrodes 2, 3, the vertical elastic wave can be generated efficiently not only on polarization lines a1-an but also on the polarization lines b1-bn, namely on the surface of the plate 1 due to the piezoelectric effect.
