PURPOSE:To increase the combustion rate per unit area and to stabilize combustion, by molding a burner in two-layer structure, by providing a primary mixing plate having a number of projected burner ports on it and the secondary air inlet plate on which holes larger than the burner ports are arranged so as to be opposed to each other, and by making the gaps between the burner ports and the holes the secondary air inlet ports. CONSTITUTION:Mixed gas of fuel and the primary air fed through a mixed gas inlet port 11 goes through a mixing chamber 12, reaching the burner ports 14 of a primary premixing plate 13, and then is ignited to form flames 15 at the burner ports. The secondary air is fed from a duct 16, passing through the secondary air inlet ports 18 which are formed on the gaps between the inside edges of holes opened on the secondary air inlet plate 17 in the same pattern as the burner port 14 and the outside of the burner port 14, contacting to the flames 15, diffusing to the inside of flames, and increasing the combustion velocity of flames. With such an arrangement, nearly the same rate of the secondary air is fed to all flames, and all their combustion velocities are increased to the same rate. When the height of the secondary air inlet plate 17 to the primary premixing plate 13, that is the height of the holes, is determined practically to the same of the top of a burner port 14 or to be lower than that height, back fire will hard to occur, so that stability of flames can be enhanced.
