PURPOSE:To obtain flat and fine resin powder easily at a low cost, by pressing and/or applying shearing force to a resin powder, whose diameter is smaller than a specified value, in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:It is required that the diameter of the resin powder to be used is smaller than 150mum. If the diameter is larger than 150mum, the diameter of the flat and fine resin powder will become larger than 200mum. The kind of the solvent is not limited as far as the solvent does not dissolve the resin powder. Either one or a mixture of more than two types of solvents can be used. The quantity of the solvent to be used is a level just wetting the resin powder and three - ten times of the wt. of the resin powder is preferable. If wetting of the solvent to the resin powder is poor and a homogeneous dispersion can not be achieved, adding an additive such as a surface active agent, etc. is allowable. If the pressing and/or the shearing forces are too strong or too weak, the resin power is ground or the flat power can not be obtained respectively. An appropriate range of the forces should be therefore selected.
