PURPOSE:To improve the yield and the mechanical strength by burying the non-magnetic material at both sides of the gap for recording and reproducing and adjusting the track width. CONSTITUTION:At the magnetic head, a magnetic slider 20 composed of the ferrite, etc., and a C-type core 22 composed of the ferrite, etc., in the same way are provided, a magnetic slider 20 will not have the center rail, is constructed so that a side rail 24 only can be formed at both sides and a C-type core 22 is junctioned at the edge part of one of said rails 24. Consequently, the junctioning surface of the magnetic slider 20 and the C-type core 22 are both ground specularly, junctioned so as to generate the prescribed gap length by glass adhesives, etc. and the junctioning part constitutes a gap 26 for the recording and reproducing. At both sides of the gap 26 for the recording and reproducing, notches are formed, a non-magnetic material 28 such as glass is filled and by the shape of the notches the track width is adjusted. Thus, the yield is improved and it is hard to be damaged.
