In the dabber printing method, the dabber (11) is firstly lowered onto the block table (3) by means of a toggle lever (6) and pressed onto the inked block, thereby receiving the printed image. Subsequently, the slide (4) bearing the toggle lever (6) is displaced over the printing table (2) and printing then takes place on the workpiece. In the known constructions, during this process the relatively high pressure of the order of magnitude of 600 kg is absorbed by the guides (5) of the slide (4), as a result of which bending, damage and the like may occur. This is avoided by providing the supported end (12) of the toggle lever with a support member guided displaceably on the slide and by the machine frame (11) having support surfaces for the support member (13) within the range of movement of the slide (4). <IMAGE>
