PURPOSE:To effectively polish a work by providing a work supporting part on the eccentric part of a shaft turning eccentrically to the rotary shaft of a barrel tank having the diameter of an opening part smaller than that of an intermediate part. CONSTITUTION:A barrel tank 20 having a large diameter in the intermediate portion thereof turns around a shaft 38 while driven by a motor 48. A work supporting member 52 is provided on an elevator 64 vertically moving along a guide bar 98 such that it turns around a central shaft 54 eccentrically to the shaft 38 while driven by a motor 84. The work supporting member 52 passing through a work 50 at a position eccentric to the central shaft 54 is inserted into the barrel tank 20 in a specific rotary phase state as shown by a broken line which is detected by a detector 80, turned as medium 20 is rotated, and further driven for rotation when the rotation of the barrel tank 20 reaches a set point. When polishing is completed, the work supporting member 52 is subjected to free rotation, and is pulled out after the rotation of the barrel tank 20 is stopped. |
