<p>There is disclosed apparatus for measuring the linear feed of a longitudinal strip such as carpet through a cutting station (13). Means (14) in contact with the strip for sensing advancement thereof as well as means (PE1 and PE2) for detecting movement of the strip through longitudinally spaced positions are provided. A microprocessor (20) calculates the slip factor and operates cutting means to cut the strip accurately into required lengths.</p> |
