摘要 PURPOSE:An SOD activator, consisting of a culture of Streptococcus lactis and having good flavor even when orally administered in a large amount. CONSTITUTION:An SOD (superoxide dismutase) activator obtained by inoculating Streptococcus lactis into a culture medium, cultivating the Streptococcus lactis at a constant temperature for a given time, preferably at 37 deg.C for 24-30hr, recovering microbial cells by centrifugal separation, purifying the microbial cells, as necessary, subjecting the microbial cells to destruction treatment, e.g. high pressure, ultrasonic irradiation or blowing with beads, etc., or autolysis treatment and freeze-drying the resultant material. The above-mentioned activator is orally administered in about 3-60g dose expressed in terms of a microbial cell formulation for an adult a day once-in divided several portions. The above- mentioned culture medium is preferably a culture medium containing 1% glucose, 0.8% peptone, 0.4% yeast extract, 0.3% sodium citrate, 0.25% sodium bicarbonate and the rest of water.
