PURPOSE:To eliminate vibromotive moment by providing counterweights in such a manner that they are in correspondence to the arrangement of engine cylinders and turning a balance shaft in the reverse direction of the crank-shaft turning direction and at a speed twice as high as that of the crank shaft. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 10 is situated at the upper part of the right-hand cylinder bank 2, while a cam shaft 11 at the upper part of the left-hand cylinder bank 3. In addition, the piston of each cylinder is connected to a crankshaft 4. A balance shaft 28 is provided with counter-weights 32 and 33 in such a manner that they are in correspondence to each cylinder. With this contrivance, the vibromotive moment of the engine can effectively be eliminated. |
