PURPOSE:To protect a power converter from the overload regardless of a load power factor and the crest value of load currents by drooping output voltage from the power converter when input power to the power converter exceeds a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Outputs from a voltage detecting circuit 2 and a current detecting circuit 3 are inputted to an arithmetic circuit 4, and input power to a power converter 1 is arithmetically operated. When the input power exceeds the set power value of a setter 9, an output from a comparator 10 is inputted to an output voltage regulator 5 for the power converter 1. The output voltage regulator 5 droops output voltage from the power converter 1 by the output from the comparator 10, and limits the output currents.
