<p>Bituminous binder as emulsion comprising 50-70 wt.% bitumen and 30-50 wt.% of an aq. soln. contg. 0.5-2 wt.% (w.r.t. total emulsion) of a non-ionic emulsifier which has good affinity to water but none to lime and has formula R-(CH2CH2O)n-H (where R is long chain alkyl, or aryl substd. by long chain alkyl and is attached by O or (CH2CH2O)n and n is >=10). This binder ensures immediate cohesion to treated material altering internal friction of materials and thus not affecting the setting of the mixture.</p> |
