PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and power consumption of a driving IC thereby suppress heat generation and enhance reliability, by not incorporating any control resistor element in the driving IC, in an LED array printing head. CONSTITUTION:One end part of each resistor element is electrically connected to each of LEDs 8-1, 8-2,... a driving IC device 16 is disposed adjacent to a resistor element block 12-1, 12-2,... and the device 16 is electrically connected to the other end parts of the resistor elements. Trimming is carried out by irradiating the resistor element with laser light through a selfoc lens array, whereby the luminous intensities of all of the LEDs 18-1, 18-2,... can be equalized by using the same driving voltage. Accordingly, since the resistor element block 10 is provided separately from the driving IC device 16, the cost of the driving IC is lowered, the temperature rise in the driving IC device 16 is reduced, and reliability can be enhanced. |
