PURPOSE:To provide a gas laser tube having stabilized laser output and reliability which is not deformed by a pressure caused by a refrigerant liquid flowing into the tube, by constructing an insulation tube to have a larger diameter at the ends and a smaller diameter in the central portion and to have tapered junctions between the ends and the central portion. CONSTITUTION:An insulation tube 1 formed of glass or the like has, on the ends thereof, bellows 2, 3, cathode electrode 4, 5 and mirror flanges 8, 9 in which mirrors 6, 7 are mounted. The insulation tube 1 has a larger diameter at the ends and a smaller diameter in the discharging central portion in which an anode electrode 10 is provided at the center. A refrigerating cylinder 11 in which a refrigerant liquid 12 is supplied for cooling the central portion of the insulation tube 1 is provided with an inlet 13 and an outlet 14. Further, the junction between the ends and the central portion of the insulation tube 1 is tapered as shown by A and A' in the drawing for the purpose of increasing the mechanical strength thereof. This construction solve such problems that the smaller diameter portion of the inner insulation tube 1 is pressed and deformed by a pressure caused by the refrigerant liquid 12 flowing into the refrigerating cylinder 11 through the inlet and thereby the laser output is varied or the glass tube is broken. |
