The present invention relates to a saw which is modified in accordance with the invention. This saw is mounted on a rigid handle 1 on one end, with a pincer 6 and 7 for holding the branches to be sawn. At the other end there is a hand grip 13 for clamping jaw 6 onto jaw 7 via a flexible cable 14. To enable the saw 2 to be actuated, a rigid rod 11 connects the hand grip 12 to the saw 2, passing through the handle. A long spring 10 housed in the handle ensures that the saw presses against the wood to be sawn. The spring 10 and the handle 1 serve as a sheath for the rod 11, which moves inside them, and allow the latter to flex a little but not to twist. The long slits 38 formed all along the handle 1 make it possible to prevent the rings 29, 30, 31 from revolving around and in the handle 1 and allow the backwards and forwards movement of the rod 11 to be communicated to the saw 2.
